Eating Frog With Pomodoro Style
Dear Fellows greetings and Peace be with you.
My Name is Haris and here i’m writing a Blog on the pomodoro technique to get the rid of procrastinating, getting task completed on time without any delays and to be much more creative and productive during accomplishing the target.
What is Pomodoro Technique?
The Pomodoro Technique was introduced in the early 1990s by Francesco Cirillo. Cirillo named the system “Pomodoro” after the tomato shaped timer he used to track his work and creativity in order to get better results within a dedicated time space. The method is simple, creative and fun, when faced with any bigger tasks, it can break the work down into short, timed intervals called (Pomodoros) that are spaced out by short breaks. This tricks our own brain to focus for short periods and helping us to stay on top of deadline or on before the submission date.
How it Works?
As per below Photo the technique is very simple to work and is divided into 5 major steps.
- Identify your task for the day.
- Set a timer pomodoro or timer on the watch for 25 minutes.
- Work until 25 minutes complete.
- Take a five minutes break after 25 minutes.
- Repeat the above process.
- After every 4th break, take a longer beak for 15–30 minutes.
My Experience And How I Used It?
I have experienced this technique by practicing it for a day before yesterday to complete my Amal Fellow Ship Weekly Project . Initially it was a bit difficult as I was looking at the time trying to do most of the work in 25 minutes and there were distraction around me, like being called by family member for some work, my addiction to open social media in between this, listening music also. Even not been fully equipped myself for better time saving. Previous were some of my little reason to be distracted from accomplishing my task or work.
So I planned to use this technique in order to make my room clean and to manage each and every stuff to be present at its perfect place, as it become mess in past for not arranging my room in a proper way.
I took the following steps to come closer to my target.;
1- Identify task for today
I decided to do “Clean and proper managing of my Room” with the help of this technique.
2- Set the time of 25 minutes
I set the time of 25 minutes in my mobile.
3- Work for the duration of the timer
During this I wrote on my journal about the distractions i face which occurred in between the work. i have remove the distractions like noise pollution, light gone off, call from my friend, feeling bored and less energy within myself.
4- Take a few minute break and set another time
After break, set the pomodoro timer again and repeat the above steps.
I Will do apply this technique again so i will able to try to improve myself by practicing it more to complete my work as quickly as possible. It really can be helpful to manage our own time and also you get to know your capacity of work you can do in a specific time in every area of our lives, where we need improvement to much more creative and productive.
It was a great learning experience and learned a lot of things like Managing Our Precious time of 1440, Completing the task, working in a creative way within ourselves, and to make our self ready for accomplishing the task by overcoming the fear of procrastinating.
“Determine never to be idle. No person will have occasion to complain of the want of time who never loses any. It is wonderful how much can be done if we are always doing.” — Thomas Jefferson
